Coaching Staff

Clint Knoll
Head Coach (3rd Season)

Coach Knoll will be entering his 3rd season as the head coach of the Mustangs in 2009-10. Before that he was an assistant for 9 years at DC-G. Knoll led the Mustangs to a 19-4 dual meet record in his first season and a trip to the State Duals. The Mustangs finished 11th in the traditional state tournament with 7 state qualifiers including 4 place-winners. Knoll also coaches 9th grade football and MS girls track. He teaches 6th grade math and science at the middle school. Knoll graduated from Grandview College in Des Moines and was a 1995 DC-G graduate where he qualified for state his junior and senior years.

Scott Kopecky
Assistant Coach (17th Season)

Coach Kopecky will be in his 17th year as a DC-G wrestling assistant this upcoming season. He came to DC-G from Waukee where he was the head wrestling coach. Kopecky has also coached football, volleyball, track, and softball in his coaching career. Scott graduated from Waukee high school and earned his Bachelor’s degree in education from Grandview College. Coach K is now employed by GeoTech Engineering and Observation in Grimes.

Travis Donahue
Assistant Coach (3rd Season)

Coach Donahue will be in his 3rd year as assistant wrestling coach at DC-G in 09-10. Before coming to DC-G Donahue was an assistant wrestling coach and a volunteer football coach for four years at Waukon High school where he graduated in 2001. Donahue graduated in 2006 from UNI and is the Industrial Technology teacher at DC-G High School.

Josh Anderson
Assistant Coach (3rd Season)

Coach Anderson is going into his 3rd year of Volunteering with the DC-G Wrestling Program. He went to school in Belmond Ia, and graduated in 1998. He went to NIACC Community College for 2 years. He works in the family business, TJ Party Rentals.

Dayton Ericson
Assistant Coach (3rd Season)

Coach Ericson is in his 2nd year as a DC-G assistant. He wrestled at Cedar Falls high school compiling over 100 victories placing 3rd as a junior and 2nd as a senior helping there team become back to back state Champions(97-98). Ericson received a scholarship to UNI and wrestled there 4yrs. He was an Officer in the Army National Guard for 8yrs as a automotive platoon leader. He runs a successful Amway business with his wife Julie and lives in Urbandale.

Andy Davidson - MS Head Coach
3rd year at Dallas Center Grimes

Coach Davidson is in his 31st year of coaching and teaching at Dallas Center-Grimes. He spent 28 of those years as the head high school wrestling coach. Coach Davidson is in his third year of coaching the middle school. Coach Davidson graduated from William Penn University and has since been inducted into their athletic hall of fame. During his career he has also been inducted into the IHSAA Hall of Fame, he has been inducted to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a recipient of the Iowa chapter's lifetime service to wrestling award. And just recently, Coach Davidson was a National Coach of the Year finalist. Coach Davidson teaches PE at the elementary and high school levels.

Mike Burgher - Assistant Coach
7th year at Dallas Center-Grimes

Coach Burgher will be in his 7th year as a DC-G assistant. Coach Burgher worked as a volunteer for his first four years at DC-G. Coach Burgher came to DC-G from Okoboji High School where he was the Jr. High wrestling coach. Burgher lettered at William Penn College before finishing up his schooling at Northern Iowa. He is a 1996 DC-G graduate and teaches High School art and is also in charge of the art club and yearbook.
